After serving the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne as a parachute infantryman, Chairman Shaw attended the University of Northern Colorado earning a degree in History which led to a teaching position at Eaton High School. Shaw has remained at his role at Eaton for the past twenty years. While teaching, he became involved in athletics by coaching High School Baseball for the storied Eaton Reds between 2001-2009 helping lead the Reds to 5 3A State Baseball Championships, 4 of which were consecutive. In 2006, he took an additional coaching role as an assistant softball coach at Eaton High. Initially, a one year favor turned into continuing coaching fast pitch softball ever since, and he still coaches Eaton Softball. In the process, has guided the Red Softball program to 7 consecutive state playoff appearances with two appearances in the state championship. Meanwhile, educationally Shaw earned from the University of Northern Colorado Master of Arts in History in 2006 and Master of Arts in Sports Coaching in 2016. Shaw began his relationship of Northern Colorado Rush soccer as vice-president in 2017, then as president and chairman in 2018.  Shaw’s goal as chairman is to continue to offer soccer to as many Greeley youth participants while keeping the program as competitive as possible and cost-effective for members.
